Academy of Cannabis Science Saturday Sesh: Moms and Cannabis

Kim Davis is a Washington State licensed medical cannabis consultant, marketing professional, military spouse, and mother. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and international business from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master of Business Administration degree from East Carolina University. After several years of living and traveling overseas, Kim is determined to use her experience, skills, and knowledge to educate and normalize the use of cannabis and other plant medicine across the globe.

Evelyn LaChapelle, in 2013 was convicted for her minor role in a cannabis distribution operation and sentenced to 87 months in Prison. She is now utilizing her position to advocate for restorative justice. Evelyn has built a lifestyle brand, “The Weed lady.” To push this brand and the industry forward by normalizing cannabis consumption first with luxury cannabis essentials, premium pre-rolls, and curated cannabis events.

Caitlein Ryan: As the founder of Sound Cultivation and by participating in leadership roles at The Cannabis Alliance, Caitlein has worked hard for sensible policy by working with businesses, organizations, legislators, and government agencies to develop policy that will shape the cannabis industry in Washington State and beyond. She has continued to develop the depth of her advocacy through partnerships with supporting nonprofits and she looks forward to the next development in her career in cannabis. Caitlein is also mom to four amazing teen and tweenagers.

Sue Tan is a co-founder and Chief Creative Officer for the cannabinoid health and wellness brand Polite, which develops clinically informed products for the regulated cannabis and hemp markets. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur in the cannabis world, she worked in the fields of user research, product and service design, and business innovation, working with global clients as diverse as Nike, PayPal, Toyota, Medtronic, and the Singapore Government. She is also passionate about education as a course developer and adjunct lecturer for the Iovine and Young Academy at the University of Southern California, which was founded by music pioneers Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. Regardless if she is building, creating, or teaching, she enjoys working at the overlap of helping people, building community, and creative problem solving across different disciplines.
