COMMITTEE CORNER

The Cannabis Alliance Brings Cannabis Industry Waste Issues to the Forefront

The Cannabis Alliance and members of its packaging waste committee have been in the spotlight recently speaking to the important issue of waste in our industry. Jason Lammers, of 420WholesalePack.com and Chair of The Alliance’s packaging waste committee was featured in The Seattle Times where he talked about eliminating single-use plastics via implementing a recycling program among licensed businesses and also addressed the challenges with accessing cost effective alternatives to plastic such as biodegradable hemp packaging. Alliance Board President, Danielle Rosellison, went on the air this Labor Day with Bellingham’s 92.2 KSIM’s Brad and John to also bring up the topic of waste and how The Cannabis Alliance is working to solve the problem.

MEMBER SHOUTOUT: Matthew Friedlander, Skagit Organics

This month we would like to give a shout out to Matthew Friedlander of Skagit Organics for being a member who has gone above and beyond recently. Matthew supports The Alliance at a Gold Level Membership and also sits on the packaging waste committee. He has been an active and engaged member by helping us host a summer social this past month and bringing a stellar team (and spirit!) to the annual kickball tournament.

Skagit Organics is a small family business built on a foundation of integrity and quality. They began as a medical collective of growers, processors, and dispensaries providing quality products to people who truly needed them. They make all of our oils with organic food grade alcohol and never use butane or other toxic hydrocarbon solvents so you don’t have to worry about impurities in your oil.
